Tips for a London Trip;
- Hostel – Pride of Paddington
- Restaurant – Yori, Korean BBQ
- Sightseeing – Brick Lane
This is the first time I’ve stayed in a hostel when visiting London and it’s been an absolute pleasure. The Pride of Paddington is centrally located, 2 minutes walk from Paddington station. Bakerloo, Circle, District, Hammersmith and City lines are all stop here. It’s very easily reachable even just by taking buses, few of them are conveniently running 24/7. I’ve stayed in a 4 bed female dormitory (breakfast included) for one night only. The room was spotless and tidy with a private bathroom, kitchenette area and even a TV! Confession tho, I’ve only spent about 5 minutes there after I checked in and I only got back around 1 am. As there is a pub under the hostel, I imagine this might be a bit noisy, but this is just an assumption.
I was super happy with this accommodation and my roommate.
We’ve only met in the morning but we had breakfast together and went to do a bit of sightseeing as well.
The staff is also very nice and the ‘breakfast included’ deal was amazing, they actually served me a proper English breakfast! All this for £ 33.00. Honestly, it doesn’t get better than this. Linens, towels, shower gel and shampoo are all provided. They have WIFI and lockers in the room. You just need to bring your padlock. 10/10
Yori, is a traditional Korean BBQ restaurant in the heart of London, walking distance from Piccadilly Circus. The service is excellent just like the food. I visited with a friend of mine and we decided to share a ‘Sea Food Set’ which contained scallops, squid, salmon, clam and prawn. Plus, some recommended rice and salad on the side. The set is being served raw and marinated, and you are to grill them at your table, at your own pace.
So we did exactly that, while we also shared some delicious French white wine wine and life stories. Of course, we ain’t expert on BBQ so our waiter kindly showed us the first couple of steps and very patiently explained all what’s needed to be known. We were at the restaurant for 2 hours and it was a blast! 10/10
Later on I will post some pictures and in a new post I will gossip about the opening night for All about Eve and the Sunday Market on Brick Lane.
