Igloo Backpackers Hostel & Annexe

I stayed at the Igloo Hostel when visiting Nottingham. I spent 3 nights here and it was perfect. I stayed in a 4 bed female dormitory. The room was cute, it had lockers, the bed was very comfy with a memory foam mattress!!! I’m not gonna lie, I was charmed. The hostel has a fully equipped kitchen, a big inside garden and a big dining room. The staff is just lovely and chatty and the location is ideal. Less than 10 minutes walk from the train station, and only a couple of minutes walk from the city centre. There were … Continue reading Igloo Backpackers Hostel & Annexe

Accommodation in Stockholm

Our first accommodation was at the Söder Mälarstrand and it was a vessel. Yes, indeed we stayed on a boat for the first couple of nights. The HMS Gustaf af Klint is a former Swedish sailing survey vessel that was built in 1941 and was scrapped as a city servant in 1980. Since 1978 she functions as a hostel in Stockholm. We paid £90.00 for our room, for two nights. The room was small, but it had a very comfortable double bed, some space for the luggage and a sink. Inside of the hostel is refurbished and quite pretty. It … Continue reading Accommodation in Stockholm

Seadragon Backpackers, Brighton

This hostel was such a relief after the first shock of the B&B Guest-house. The first thing you’ll notice when entering the place that it is tiny and cute. Reception is basically just a little desk in the living room area. It’s all very bright, colourful and tidy. The staff is very nice and approachable. It’s not a big hostel, maybe around 25-30 people, which makes it quite cosy & quiet. The rooms are very nice, there is enough space and natural light. It looks like it’s been recently renovated. There are showers in each floor. They are clean, there is space … Continue reading Seadragon Backpackers, Brighton

Sobo Guest House, Brighton & Hove

I’ve stayed at this place for two nights and hopefully I will never stay here again. This place is on the cheap side of the hostels but there are certainly many reasons to that. First, it is in Hove, not Brighton and is far from the centre. Second, it stinks. You heard me. Upon entering the hostel, the only thing you will smell, is this disgusting odour…and when you look around you realise that everything is dirty, old and it’s just not inviting at all. You might even get discouraged, but then you meet the staff. They are very nice … Continue reading Sobo Guest House, Brighton & Hove

London weekend – January 2018

Tips for a London Trip; Hostel – Pride of Paddington Restaurant – Yori, Korean BBQ All about Eve with Gillian Anderson and Lily James, Noel Coward Theatre Sightseeing – Brick Lane This is the first time I’ve stayed in a hostel when visiting London and it’s been an absolute pleasure. The Pride of Paddington is centrally located, 2 minutes walk from Paddington station. Bakerloo, Circle, District, Hammersmith and City lines are all stop here. It’s very easily reachable even just by taking buses, few of them are conveniently running 24/7. I’ve stayed in a 4 bed female dormitory (breakfast included) … Continue reading London weekend – January 2018
