Riddle and Finns (Seafront)

Riddle and Finns is a Brighton based seafood restaurant with two homes; one in the Lanes and another on the beach. The beach location has an al fresco terrace looking over the sea and is always rather busy so it’s worth booking in advance. The restaurant is working with trusted and knowledgeable suppliers, their main supplier of fresh fish are local Shoreham based BNFS, who provide us with day caught local fish and shellfish from their fleet of inshore fishing boats. The vast majority of their produce is from the local Sussex area. They have an extensive wine and Champagne … Continue reading Riddle and Finns (Seafront)

Sexy Mamma Love Cicchetti

When I looked up places to eat in Nottingham, one of my first choice was Sexy Mamma Love Spaghetti. I could live on Italian food for the rest of my life, so I do often go to Italian restaurants, wherever I travel. Now that’s said, I am also living in a magical world, and sometimes I just wonder into places, assuming that they are the ones I was looking for. And I don’t realise that they are indeed not… In this particular scenario, I walked into a restaurant, got surprised by the completely different menu, but still proceeded to order … Continue reading Sexy Mamma Love Cicchetti

Igloo Backpackers Hostel & Annexe

I stayed at the Igloo Hostel when visiting Nottingham. I spent 3 nights here and it was perfect. I stayed in a 4 bed female dormitory. The room was cute, it had lockers, the bed was very comfy with a memory foam mattress!!! I’m not gonna lie, I was charmed. The hostel has a fully equipped kitchen, a big inside garden and a big dining room. The staff is just lovely and chatty and the location is ideal. Less than 10 minutes walk from the train station, and only a couple of minutes walk from the city centre. There were … Continue reading Igloo Backpackers Hostel & Annexe

Dishoom – London

Let me tell you, that finding a special breakfast/brunch place in London, that opens actually early-ish on the weekend, is not as easy as one would think. Most brunch places open around 11-12 o’clock! However, Dishoom opens at 9 am, and serves the most amazing breakfast dishes with some nice coffee/unlimited chai tea. THE OLD IRANI CAFÉS of Bombay have almost all disappeared. Their faded elegance welcomed all: courting couples, sweaty taxi-wallas, students, artists and lawyers. Fans turned slowly. Bentwood chairs were reflected in stained mirrors, next to sepia family portraits. Opened early last century by Zoroastrian immigrants from Iran, there … Continue reading Dishoom – London

Sunday Roast – London

Okay, so here is the thing. I am not a huge fan of Sunday Roasts and this is mainly due to me believing that there is a bigger hype around it as it should be. Some of the roast I have tried, were not the best to say the least…no flavours, questionable quality of the meat, boring side dishes… But, then I went to Hack and Hop last weekend and my faith was restored a little bit. The place is hidden in a little street close to Blackfriars station and St. Paul’s Cathedral. They have amazing selection of ales, beers … Continue reading Sunday Roast – London

Stockholm

You know the feeling when you are just minding your own business and living your little life in the UK and Michelle Obama announces her book tour in Europe? And then you try to plan, buying tickets like crazy but it’s sold out everywhere… So you don’t have any plans anymore, you just go with the wind and end up in Stockholm with your bestie? No? Not a familiar feeling? Well it wasn’t for me either, until it was and seemed like the most normal thing to do. Booking hostels, packing our backpacks and flying to Stockholm. Visiting the city … Continue reading Stockholm

Seadragon Backpackers, Brighton

This hostel was such a relief after the first shock of the B&B Guest-house. The first thing you’ll notice when entering the place that it is tiny and cute. Reception is basically just a little desk in the living room area. It’s all very bright, colourful and tidy. The staff is very nice and approachable. It’s not a big hostel, maybe around 25-30 people, which makes it quite cosy & quiet. The rooms are very nice, there is enough space and natural light. It looks like it’s been recently renovated. There are showers in each floor. They are clean, there is space … Continue reading Seadragon Backpackers, Brighton
